Reunited? 12-16-10
I have one Corvette down here in Sarasota. Another still resides in my garage in Michigan. The one down here is newer. It has more horsepower. The one in Michigan, in spite of its age, is beautiful. It is an anniversary edition ruby-red. It has chrome, Italian Momo wheels. The matching ruby interior looks like the cockpit of a private jet. People whistle at it. I get offers to buy it every time I stop for gas. It's fast, but I don't speed very much. I haven't driven it for over a year now. My son has offered to charge the battery, start it up, and wait for a sunny day before he tries to drive it down to Florida. Of course, it will take more than just a sunny day. The fat tires make this the worst snow car ever. In the past, the rear end has slid sideways on a snowflake. The car has done a 360 degree turn on a frozen off ramp at just 30 miles an hour....definitely an experience that will clear your sinuses. So if it starts, and if the tires are holding air, I will instruct my son to wait for that perfect window...one in which the freeways are ice free. Then it is just a matter of waiting on pins and needles until he gets to north Georgia.
