Art Van Furniture Complaints 8-20-11

Oh my goodness. I knew there was a great deal of animosity building up against my former employer, Art Van. Let's face it, one of the reasons he needed a bodyguard was because his employees were starting to get a little tense and coming after him with guns. I wrote about it in my first novel, Grosse Pointe Pimp. His customers had complaints, of course, but for many years they did not have the internet to exchange and compare their complaints. Now, they do. There are many consumer complaint sites, and my ol' buddy Art has bunches and bunches listed on every one of them. Remember, if someone takes the time to sit down and write after they feel every other avenue has been exhausted, they are REALLY mad. I used to see a new complaint about old Art's tactics every month or so. Then it was every week. If you count all of the sites together, Art Van Furniture rips off at least one person or their family every day now! Ouch. It is much akin to peeling away the layers of a rotten onion...it gets worse as you go. This particular site has been posting new complaints more and more frequently, and some are doozys. For the first time, I am going to make a prediction. Not many people are moving in to Michigan anymore. So there is a lack of new pigeons to scam. The internet is a more powerful communication tool than my 80 year old former boss could anticipate, so the continuous gripes are getting hard to keep under wraps. Sales are plummeting. Ikea is planning more stores. A tipping point shall be reached within two years...where no amount of deceptive advertising will stem the avalanche of bad juju. The company will contract and operate at a loss for three years after that. Mark's prediction: The going out of business sales for the parent company shall begin in August of 2016!! You read it here first.
