Somebody doesn't like Art Van much 6-3-11

Did you ever wonder how Art Van Furniture survived the horrible economic crisis that hit Michigan especially hard? Let's see, other businesses try to cut operating costs by paying less rent...but my ol buddy Art owns all of his buildings outright. Businesses also cut corners by laying off employees or paying them less, and believe me, Art has done that! Foolish restaurant owners cut back on their portions while keeping the same price on the menu...but Art can't deliver a smaller sofa, or a little tiny kitchen table. One thing he can do, however, is demand lower prices from the folks he buys his furniture from. After all, it still LOOKS pretty when it's new, but then so did my first wife. Of course, this begs the question: If the manufacturer is getting less money for each piece he ships to Art, is he making it with greater care, or is the factory cutting some corners? I think you know the answer to that one. And how does this cheap crap hold up during every day use? Not too well, I fear. It looks pretty in the showroom, but that's all Art needs in order to get your money. Sour grapes from Mark Steel, a former employee? Click here. I find the postings about the way he worms out of honoring the warranties especially intriguing. He runs his personal life the exact same way. Was the above link an isolated forum? Do you really want to invest the time to read 20 more? Want to know a secret? Art Van the owner does not have the faintest clue about how to operate a computer. How ironic then that the internet will soon be his downfall.
