Free In-Store Pickup 11-11-11

Once again my ol buddy Art has come up with something that sounds great but falls short. It's called "Free in store pickup". This joker has about 32 stores. Let us just suppose that one has purchased a sofa from one of the more far flung locations. Since he ships from a central warehouse in Warren, Michigan, one is welcome to pickup the sofa there. If that warehouse is too great a distance away, Art will have it put on a truck and delivered to your house---for a fee. But wait! In his latest "offer," Art claims that one does not have to pay that fee. Click here. He would be happy to load it onto the truck and ship it to the store you bought it from, assuming (probably correctly) that it is the store nearest your house. Of course, many people do not have access to a vehicle big enough to hold a large sofa. Therefor they would have to rent or borrow one. Now here is the kicker...while they are out renting that vehicle, there is a good chance the delivery truck that has their sofa on it would be SAILING RIGHT PAST THEIR HOUSE anyway!!! In fact, they may be able to leave a loved one on their front porch to wave at the truck drivers that are delivering their new sectional to the store INSTEAD OF THEIR HOUSE! Is there such a thing as "business dementia?" I shall check into it and get back with you.
